After reports spread claiming Dell was set to produce an AMD processor based PC, Dell has firmly denounced the reports as false. According to previous reports, motherboard makers Foxconn, Asustek, and Quanta were told by Dell to ready production for AMD based systems.
Rumors about Dell's possible adaptation of AMD gained strength after the PC maker began selling AMD processors through its online store a few weeks back. Industry analysts claim that Dell gets huge discounts from Intel in its deal with the world's leading chipmaker to produce systems using Intel processors exclusively. Such a partial move to AMD would undoubtedly jeopardize any deal.
