Looks like I was correct about it not being released to MSDN Subscriber Downloads until Thursday, Febuary 23rd, 2006!
Edit: nm, full 125 KB/sec.
or is this still the vista ultimate, as it was til now?!
I don't have MS Connect or MSDN anyway though, so it doesn't make much of a difference.
So this has the sidebar, right? If it doesn't, then Microsoft isn't including it in Vista anymore.
Robert...
took a while before I could get in at connect though
looking forward to install this later
Make absolutely sure that you have the Febuary FTM Release, before you attempt to download Windows Vista Febuary CTP!
If I download the CTP by itself and do not have the FTM installed when installing the CTP, what will happen...is it needed?
I am looking forward to this...
Anyone have this installed yet? How long for the install? How is the stability and any perfromance issues?

Seems like a problem with "wizard" screens. I'd be fine with it if they made the title font bigger, but that just looks crazy. It's kind of the same problem with Explorer windows:

Don't you think they could just put the minimize, restore, and close buttons right next to the search bar?

I hope they work out all the little things like this, as it's all the little things that make something great.
also my fingerprint reader never worked on the last build but I m hoping for better success on this one...
any thoughts on this...
I think we should have a seperate section on the forum just for application compatibility
Erm...
Edit: Please stop PMing me. I won't send the invitation to anybody.

I dont think you can sign up and see if you get invited. In order to be in the Vista beta, you have to either be very closely related or partnered with Microsoft, a devoloper, or some (legal) way get in that involves knowing someone with power.
I'll send Bill an email immediately.
edit: maby not
Secure and compliant desktop
Connecting people to information
Increasing mobile and remote productivity"
I just have to laugh at these empty marketing sentences.
Compliant desktop? What's that? Connecting people to information? What feature do you mean with that exactly, and if it's new, it's interesting XP doesn't do this? Increasing remote productivity? What do you mean and how? I'm sure there may actually be features hiding behind these claims, but then it would be much nicer if these were translated to major new features instead of marketing abstracts.
I'll definately try Vista - I want Microsoft to prove my scepticism wrong, but I don't think it'll be that exciting to be honest.
Someone get this baby installed and post bigger screenshots.
