We love our forum members. So much, that we might just believe their crazy stories.

" Now, I was at the apple store today. I needed to get my powerbook fixed [again] sick.gif . I had the chance to play with the G5 and all the other stuff their, then i ran in to this cute rep lady which i was trying to flirt with. It didn't go that well, Then i just asked her "what is apple previewing on 28" she told me that apple, will be bring a lot of their powerpc software to mac. Mostly Pro software so they can preplace PowerMac's next. So what i hear is Mac Mini will be the last thing to go to intel... Odd but she said that Mac mini's are still sellings like crazy."

We had expected to see the Pro tools coming over to the Intel Macs much later in the year - but an 'early' launch would make sense. Tktino's efforts with the sales rep aside, this seems more plausible than some of the recent stories surrounding a touch screen, true video iPod.

The Pro tools software is probably the only area holding back Intel Mac purchases. Apple's marketing strategy of late has been to 'under-promise' - that is to claim one thing and do one better in a few months time (see recent speed increase on MacBook Pros). An early launch would be a nice surprise of sorts.

lol....so now we believe sales reps? they are as much in the dark with apple releases as the rest of us.
Dont you think if this info was true and accurate, and she is also allowed to tell complete strangers, that the info would have also been made public through more official channels?

Apple Reps don't have a clue to what is being released until it's released, everything at Apple is on the "need to know basis" and a sales rep at a retail is a long way from need to know. we all will find out together on the 28th what Apple is releasing.

'Pro Tools' is actually a very specific piece of software for audio sequencing.. so probably not the clearest wording to use!

so what happenend? where are the pro tools? where you lying? was the rep lying? YES.... as everyone with even the tiniest insight into apple knows..... REPS know jack all when it comes to future releases. My mum has a better idea than a apple sales rep.
