MSBlog is reporting that Microsoft plans to release Windows Vista Beta 2 to the masses today. Although the downloads are not yet available, the access denied page is evident that indeed, the files will be up later on.
The release is reportedly 5384.4, the same release given out at WinHEC 2006, to no ones surprise.
Update: Everyone can now download it
Download: Windows Vista Beta 2 x86 or x64 | Direct Link (x86) 3.12 GB
Download: Windows Vista Beta 2 German x86 or x64 | Japanese x86 or x64

finally!
no it doesnt, you do have to delete the efi partition (can be done in the vista installation process). OSX works fine without that partition
3.13GB to go lol
Seems like MS' servers are holding out pretty good....for now
Use MS' download manager
Use a 3rd party download manager
Very simple
GO MICROSOFT!
Wait a few hours or maybe days. It may not be uploaded yet, or worse may not be complied yet.
Well, seeing as spanish is the 3rd-4th most common language in the world (I think), It would be natural to have it for spanish speaking only beta testers.
It is compiled. BTs can get it on connect. It will probably go up in a few days.
Thanks for the info.
NEOWIN IS OFFICALLY GETTING HAMMERED. IM GETTING ERROR MESSAGES ALREADY.
any way to install w/o having a dvd burner? I have a regular cd burner, would it be possible to burn it across multiple cd's? Any help would be great.
Welcome to Neowin!
As many of you know, Windows Vista Beta 2 is now available for download. In order to take stress off our servers you may directly go to the Microsoft Windows Vista website to download your copy now.

You could always mount the .ISO in a emulation mounting tool (such as Dameon Tools). The instalation will work without any problemas.

Cheers. I will be trying that out...
Well, you can go to a pirating site... It's not really pirating because it was released publicly for free (at least, that's the way I see it)
NEW Build yessssssssssssssssssss!

When you register for the Customer Preview Program you will receive the Beta 2 release plus Windows Vista Release Candidate 1 (RC1) — the next major pre-release of Windows Vista — when it is available later this year. The information on this page pertains to both Beta 2 and RC1.
i just found it easier to go to the Vista mainpage and find the link to the Beta Program. Then you login w/ your Passport info and you'll be able to choose your download once you fill out a survey and location... it'll provide you w/ a download link and a unique key.
WinHEC attendees already got it. I suspect majority of attendees were third-party OEM developers.
