I keep getting an annoying bug saying that the script on the page isn't working (I think this is the ad bar).

I know I should've applied the patch to remove ads from MSN, but all the same, its an annoying bug.

I never used the betas after the first one (that you had to switch protocols to use), because of a lack of MsgPlus compatibility.

I wasnt, because how can they suddenly release a new major feature Yahoo interoperatibility in the final without having it pass through proper beta testing.

Umm... it was only a week or so ago that it was seen in an internal build, so to be honest I'm not sure I'd expect to see that until the equivalent of an 8.5 Build.
But.. who knows! :-)

A lot of activity today... hopefully get some good stuff soon! Comeon new functionality for Mail Desktop Beta and new look for Mail Beta.

Does anyone know if there will be a new build?

This is useless to me without Yahoo! integration

Does YIM even have a big enough user base to be that worth it? Interoperability is good, but I'd rather MSN and AIM mixing.

I have one who insists on using Yahoo Messenger and I hate their client.

I hope they did a version for Vista using the glass interface. I love the new look but they need something special for Vista.

What do you suppose Microsoft will ship to Beta Testers as gifts? As was stated in the email.

Yea that Messenger phone would be cool. But probably another webcam. Or something else like a window sticker
Quote this comment #16.4 Posted by Dragular on 19 Jun 2006 - 19:20
You really think they would give a sticker?
Hmm.. Mabye a new Windows webcam?
Mabye the webcam would be illogical since the MSN7 beta testers got one and were invited to test WLM8 so they wouldn't get them the same thing.

Windows Live Messenger is going to be fantastic. I can't wait until we can talk to people using Yahoo! Messenger. Hopefully in the future people on major IM programs (i.e. Windows Live Messenger, AIM and ICQ) will be able to IM each other just like we will be able to do with Windows Live Messenger and Yahoo! Messenger.

This functionality is supposedly going to be VERY basic. No advanced features such as video chat, file sending, etc. That's fine for most people however (including me). I do hope that they include this same functionality in the Yahoo! Messenger client, so that users have a choice of which client to install.

If that does happen, then hopefully others follow suit... Imagine being able to use any client you want and being able to chat with EVERY contact you've got, no matter what client they use.

That is the end game we all want... Choice in clients without worrying about what your friends/family prefer to use.
