Following success with its 'Live From London' series of gigs, Apple is preparing to host more live bands on US shores. The company will host at least two live acts in the US this month.

Alien Ant Farm will perform at the Apple Store in Sanata Monica, California on 20 July. The very next day, indie band The 88 will perform live at Apple's Grove store in LA.

The company has been hosting live events at its London store. These have been called 'Live From London' and have been recorded and later released. Richard Ashcroft's 'Live From London' performance was mentioned by UK music label body the BPI as one of the best-selling releases of the last six months in the UK.

It is not known if Apple will make recordings of the two latest US events available through iTunes.

I dont know if this is the same kind of thing but when I went to the Apple store in Tokyo there was a band playing there and a whole of people listening/playing with Macbooks/iPods. It was kind of cool even though I have no idea who they were and couldnt understand any of it lol.
