Thanks pipdo for this update, a few hours ago a new build appeared on connect. Build 5536 which is tagged 'pre-RC1'.
At the moment, only the x86 version is available in English, German & Japanese. Language packs have also been submitted. First reports indicate that both the install and overall performance is better than the previous build.
The screenshots show that the welcome center is updated and the glass appears to be a bit more blue, according to the posts in the forum, flip3D has also been improved.

That first pic in the forum that shows glass is mine. It is blue because I am a blue person and like it. Remember that you can change glass to any color using the hue changer.
Don't get me wrong, I like the idea of Glass but they need to make it look more generic. I guess they will do that when it gets released right ?
Windows Media Player and MediaCentre look all good however.
Yeah that's pretty like, cool of you to do that.

note i posted this 2-3 hours before it was posted on the front page..
Anyway, how long has Microsoft Internet Explorer had 256bit encryption? is that a new thing?
Oh, and side note, anyone given the Windows XP 64bit a test run on the relatively new Core 2 Duo processors? I'm looking at a desktop and laptop loaded with such a chip, and wanna make sure that pain and missery aren't sure to follow if one decides to run Windows Vista
It isn't necessarily speed, but more stability, driver availability, reliability etc. I'm assuming if one were running a very generic intel based hardware with no special tweaks, along with WHQL certified drivers, all should be pretty sweet.
lol it's just you......
