- This is a double whammy to try and stop google from opening their own auction site.
I hope google opens their own auction site and eBay does one!

- I'm suprised about this, as Paypal wouldn't allow Google Wallet (?) as a payment method on eBay, indicating hostility between the two companies.

- Didn't Ebay, yahoo and some other companies "team up" a few weeks ago in order to STOP google?

- Google ads are starting to show up everywhere.
I am just waiting for the day when I turn on my TV in between shows and in the bottom corner says "Ads by Google". heh -

- It's a little stupid. First of all, the links to products you can buy via Google Checkout appears in these very ads with the shopping cart icon, so eBay is essentially providing Google Checkout to its customers. A bit coutner productive don't you think?

Google will also have an exclusive rights to provide text advertising on eBay outside the US. According to the AP report, Google and eBay will work together to build a system which will enable eBay visitors to contact both eBay product sellers or Google advertisers by internet phone calls by clicking on ads. Whether the system will involve a choice between using Skype or Google Talk is unclear.
