- Also. The Mac mini is now Core Duo only. Not Solo and Duo as it was before.

- 1199 For the 2.0GHz 17" Model:
17-inch widescreen LCD
1440x900 resolution
2.0GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor1
4MB shared L2 cache
1GB memory (2x512MB SO-DIMM)
160GB Serial ATA hard drive2
8x double-layer SuperDrive (DVD+R DL, DVD±RW, CD-RW)
ATI Radeon X1600 graphics with 128MB GDDR3 memory
Built-in AirPort Extreme and Bluetooth 2.0
Apple Remote
This would be my first Mac and it has a decent GPU? I'm in.
Just for a heads up for the neowinians these chips are the "MEROM" version of the Core 2 Duo Family. The same ones which you will be finding in laptops.

- Shame the X1600 and 7300GT suck for gaming :/

- I have a X1600 Pro, and it's more than enough, and I play a lot of new games (Fear, cod2 etc)

How does the X1600/Pro compare with a 7800 GT (which I have)? -

- The 20" Model lets you choose a 256MB Radeon x1600 as an option
The 24" Model lets you choose a 256MB NVIDIA Geforce 7600GT as an option. -

Yeah, I was meant to say how does the X1600/Pro and 7600 GT compare with a 7800 GT (which I have)? Macs are very expensive. I could get a PC for that cost that has a much more powerful graphics processor (which I understand, is only useful to gamers). -

...and just how good is it at driving at 24" TFT's pixels? It will suck ass

Thank goodness there are a lot of people over the age of 14 that do more with a computer than use it as a Wintendo. -

...and thank goodness you took the time to post that meaningless drivel. The comment is valid - if you've ever actually tried using 3d on that sort of screen - and it's not _just_ games that need it.

- 24" of screen estate is sweet, full HD goodness. Hovewer, I wish Apple should step up to the challenge and start finally matching the CPU/GPU relation by offering goddamn decent video cards options with their machines!

Cast your gaze on the ultimate eye-opening experience: the new faster, bigger, and brighter iMacs. Starting at just $999, the most personal of personal computers comes out packing a powerful punch. That ’s thanks to the new 64-bit Intel Core 2 Duo processor, you’ll find in each and every new iMac.
The fastest iMac ever, the 24-inch iMac provides professional performance along with the convenience of an all-in-one design. Like its 17-inch and 20-inch siblings, it features the new 64-bit Intel Core 2 Duo processor with speeds ranging from 1.83GHz to 2.33GHz. The new processor delivers up to 50% more performance than the previous 20-inch iMac. It also doubles the amount of L2 cache, the twin cores sharing 4MB between them.
Anyone at Apple care to drop a few of these babies off for testing?
