The anti-spam group Spamhaus Project has said 50 billion junk mails per day will be unleashed on computer users worldwide, should the group lose its domain name, spamhaus.org, reports BusinessWeek Online.

The UK-based Spamhaus Project expects a federal judge in Chicago will soon sign an order that would suspend the domain spamhaus.org because it has refused to recognise the US court and comply with an $11.7 million judgment.

Spamhouse warned the order could unleash up to 50 billion junk e-mails on computer users worldwide.

Because ICANN

no seriously, ICANN is still under US control, and that means a US judge can request that the domain be removed, or deleted from the root DNS.
