AMD's ATI operation has unveiled the Radeon X1650 XT, as expected, pitching the part at the upper reaches of the mainstream graphics card segment. Boards based on part will, like the X1950 Pro, sport an internal CrossFire connector. The reference card clocks the new GPU - aka RV560 - to 575MHz, while the 256MB of GDDR 3 video memory runs at an effective 1,350MHz. AMD touted the GPU's 24 pixel shader processors and high-dynamic range rendering.

no still good ol' dx9 . . its more of a midrange performance budget card.

not really sure why this is news worthy, but whatever.

Edit: It's weird to see AMD attached to the ATI Radeon brand, gotta get used to it I guess

I wonder whether Apple will update the gfx cards in their iMac's to this?

Eidt: No, they wont, because they use the Mobility version. Forgot about that.

It's more like:

"60% of gamers still use AGP systems and they want new <$200 cards to last until the switch to DX10 and PCIe 2.0."

Yup, pretty much. I'm still chugging away with my AGP X850XT. Runs everything without a hitch in visuals.
