Metasploit founder HD Moore has released an exploit for an unpatched vulnerability in the Apple Airport driver that ships with some PowerBook and iMac computers. The exploit kicks off a new project called Month of Kernel Bugs and follows a heated debate over the existence of 802.11 (Wi-Fi) flaws affecting Apple Computer's Mac OS X systems.
In an e-mail exchange with eWEEK, Moore said the exploit is not related to the Wi-Fi driver flaws discovered and discussed in Aug. 2006 by researchers David Maynor and Jon "Johnny Cache" Ellch at the Black Hat Briefings. "This exploit is one I found over the weekend, using the new 802.11 fuzzer modules in the Metasploit Framework," Moore said, referring to a new version of the point-and-click hacking tool that will ship with Wi-Fi exploits.

thats all i have to say
Troll.
Troll.
CAN YOU SAY "DOUBLE STANDARD"?
Troll.
CAN YOU SAY "DOUBLE STANDARD"?
I, for one, have certainly never done so.
I think that the difference here is between a "fanboy" of a platform, versus a "hateboy" of a platform. The one who hates is filled with negative vibes (bad for karma, btw). I am not a Mac fan. I prefer Linux. But such immature behavior (against any platform) is reprehensible.
Was your point that "other people do it, so it is OK to troll?", or that "other platforms are filled with trolls, as that is what makes up their user base". Is that what you mean by your overly-emphasised comment?
If you expect Neowinians to behave maturely when an Apple flaw is posted, you should also demand the same behaviour from the community when Microsoft and others flaws are posted. Otherwise, Guy is 100% right, it's a double standard.
Not only that, but the Mac community seems to have an attitude of invincibility and it's nice to have posts like this that help bring the Apple mentality back on equal ground.

When I modded here, I busted more *nix trolls than any other kind. "Double Standard"? Bullcrap.
End of Conversation
Regardless of how people act, you should not generalize all users of a certain platform that way (as certainly not all, in fact, probably a minority of us Mac users troll. The same goes for any platform).
But in this case, do you see anyone praising Apple here for a problem in their driver? Hmm, nope, not seeing it. The generalizations you brought in about "invicinbile-feeling", "defensive" mac fanboys isn't applicable. That's from somehwere else and a stereotype.
However, take a look at DK. Just laughing at the vulnerabilities with macs now,eh? Last I chcked the year is nearly 2007, not '03 but if you're still living in the past, tough luck. I know there are people who use older hardware but his comment clearly reflects his ignorance on the issue. Mark Jensen is not using a double standard. He simply pointed out the problems in DK's argument.
Of course, in a thread where an IE/Mic explot is found, if mac users are trolling, then they are at fault. But that's not here so don't bring it up. Besides, in such a situation, wouldnt Windows users defend Microsoft? So why can't Mac users defend Mac (on top of that, like I said, no one defended mac, we acknowledged thef ault but mentioned how its an old one).
None of us are trolling except DK. CGuy, don't defend him. You're all entitled to your opinions but seriously, if you cant discuss things intelligently, then shut up.
I await the next "retrohack" for the trolls to come out and nay. Maybe hackers will, after all these years, finally figure out how to break into OS X 10.1 (!!!
Take the higher path. Let them think what they want to and don't retaliate to their remarks. Soon they will find they can no longer call us fanboys when it isi they in fact who are overly defensive for their platform.
It doesn't concern us. We have the better computers, its a fact, no need to throw it in their faces.
I use both platforms on a day to day basis, I know Windows OSes and Mac OSes inside and out. I don't hail from a specific camp I just use what I need when I need it.
The trolling, be it Microsofties or Macites, is what I detest. Both sides are equally guilty.
As for what I said, I said it and meant it. Sarcasm is my only defense against stupidity.
