We have uploaded a gallery of RTM images from Windows Vista that were supplied to us by Microsoft.

As most people are aware, Windows Vista RTM'd on November 8th and will be made available to MSDN subscribers on November 17th. OEM's will start shipping Windows Vista from November 30th (in time for the Christmas holiday) and general availability for the boxed retail version will be on store shelves from January 30th 2007.

It took a while to build, changed direction no less than twice but the end result is here!

I hope you enjoy the images.

You need to have javascript enabled. Or just have a look here. I think the gallery is rather well done

I still don't understand why MS is releasing these shots. The Ultimate Extras Update is questionable. The Windows Defender screenshot is clearly from an old build. And there's all the funky dates. Why would they be releasing these to public sites as RTM screenshots?
#4.1 +accesser on 11 Nov 2006 - 12:29
I want to see the motion desktop Extra update in action not much about it yet

Once we are supplied with an evaluation build we'll do another gallery, but for now these are the legit shots. I think Paul Thurrott has a more extensive gallery at the Winsupersite.

#6.1 boogerjones on 11 Nov 2006 - 13:00
WTF. Holy stupid, Batman!

::Looks at you in disbelief:: You do realize that RTM is a finished product 0_o. Letting everyone use the RC2 key would be like microsoft saying "Hey we support software piracy now and we could care less about loosing loads of money"... Yea thats obviously a lie. Heck if that was true the only people who would actually buy vista are the ones that would be willing to shell out several hundred for a shiney lookin box. lololol

It has been leaked.....

On Microsoft's MSDN downloads page it still says:
"Windows Vista and Office 2007 is expected to be available through MSDN Subscriber Downloads within 7 days of release to manufacturing (RTM). The MSDN Subscriptions team is committed to making new content available to subscribers as soon as is practical."

Where did the information that Vista will be released to MSDN subscribers on 17-Nov come from?

Normally they should release Office 2007 by Monday and Vista by Wednesday.

Vista looks very nice, but as a mac person the thing that always makes me amazed is the unless waste of screen real estate

its fine if you have a massive moniter, but why the access of wasted status bar depth, or the massive side bars
#12.1 billyea on 11 Nov 2006 - 20:03
Then you'll love windows for allowing you to turn it off.
#12.2 evo_spook on 11 Nov 2006 - 20:24
thats ok then. thou I doubt I will have the pleasure for quite a while, i don't think my P4 laptop will be able to run it
#12.3 brianshapiro on 12 Nov 2006 - 19:46
turn it off? it isn't in stay-on-top mode anyway.
it doesn't waste real estate even when you're using it.

people need to get over this
#12.4 angrybrit on 13 Nov 2006 - 20:36
