- well when you compare the price and feature set of an 8800 series card compared to the AX1950Pro, you will see they are for different audiences.
In the same shop as the one linked to in the review, the 8800 is anything from $470 to $670 while the AX1950Pro is only $214.50, and the memory on board and GPU speed is far and away greater as well.
Its like comparing a Ford to a Ferrari, and saying that even though they are both cars, Ford is playing catch up, even though they are targetted at different people. -

- Yeah well the G80 is next generation of C graphics cards, and the top of the line Nvidia card.
the ATi card is ATi's top of the line card, it's the best they have, so in other words, still playing catch up. -

- That may be so, however from the article, the AX1950Pro was not designed to compete with the G80 line of GPUs:Quote -
The new Radeon X1950 Pro is a reasonably powerful alternative that is designed to compete with the GeForce 7900GS
And no I'm not an ATI fanboy, or an nVidia fanboy either

- I'd like to see someone compare it to the GF 7900GTO.

- Good job by Ati

The X1950 Pro is the best card in that price range now.

There are many ways in which manufacturers can add more value to their particular graphics card offerings. The ASUS Extreme AX1950Pro is a serious Radeon X1950 Pro contender, offering slightly overclocked core and memory frequencies along with an improved cooling solution.
