Hardware giant Dell has responded to the launch of Microsoft’s Windows Vista by offering factory installation to speed business adoption of the new operating system.

Dell said its latest server and storage products, desktops and notebooks had been designed and optimised for Windows Vista, along with Microsoft’s Office 2007 productivity suite and Exchange Server 2007.

Business users with volume licensing agreements from Microsoft can now send their Windows Vista image to Dell for factory installation through the hardware giant’s standard imaging service.

Other manufacturers have also responded to the Vista launch with new products and services.

Since they are supporting Vista, does that mean they are actually going to put decent video "cards" in their systems??
The current ones suck.

Even the newer integrated Intel cards can run Aero Glass well. Hell. A 5200FX runs perfectly fine on one of my PCs.

No actually my friend's old computer runs Vista and it's really really old. Except he told me he recently upgraded his video to 64 MB so I dunno.

They still do except the trial software is for networking and Dell product information.

I actually got a server with XP Professional installed from Dell.
So don't be surprised.

I just installed Vista on a PowerEdge 2850 today. We have to have a licensing server for our Vista machines that has to be hosted on either a Vista or Longhorn Server machine. Since Longhorn Server isn't quite up to par yet, vista was the only option. But, I'm still mostly off topic since I didn't actually get it FROM Dell with Vista on it. Oh well..

When Dell say their products are "Vista Ready", do they mean both the 32bit and 64 bit versions? Driver wise, I think its just the 32bit version thats Vista Ready.
