I'm going to guess my old habits are dying hard. Sorry. It's too late for me to fix that since I don't have access to the poweruser.tv servers.

--------------
Bangbang023: I want to ask you both of you guys, starting with Todd, one question ... high definition, is there a possibility that there is too much detail involved? Would you really want to see all that?
Todd: Absolutely.
Bangbang023: OH GOD.

Love the accent Rob

Yes we must not lose Rob from the show . The British accent sounds better when there's two Americans contrasting it .
#9.2 WelshBluebird on 14 Jan 2007 - 11:24
, thats probably the most I've laughed in a while lol. Thanks guys.

and lol @ Robs HTML tag of the week . Catchy title there lol.
Prehaps you should have one bangbang? lol. Prehaps "a stupid thing a customer has said to me of the week" lol.

btw, well done to Rob for swearing lol. Probably didn't mean it, but still funny lol.

There's nothing wrong with a british accent lol. God help what you guys would make of my South wales valleys accent lol. And it sounds even better when I am actually speaking welsh (or the little welsh I can speak lol).

Another great edition.

I wanted to mention that FIC is working on an Unlocked Quad-Band GSM Linux based Open Source mobile phone. Everything from the UI down to the kernel can be modified.

http://www.openmoko.com/

Here are the specs of v1 available worldwide this February for $350:

* 120.7 x 62 x 18.5 (mm)
* 2.8" VGA (480x640) TFT Screen
* Samsung s3c2410 SoC @ 266 MHz
* Global Locate AGPS chip
* Ti GPRS (2.5G not EDGE)
* Unpowered USB 1.1
* Touchscreen
* micro-sd slot
* 2.5mm audio jack
* 2 additional buttons
* 1200 mAh battery (charged over USB)
* 128 MB SDRAM
* 64 MB NAND Flash
* Bluetooth

The touchscreen is multi-touch just like the iPhone. It also comes with a stylus for handwriting recognition, GPS, a removable battery as well as expandable micro-sd slot (At most 4GB right now). These features are not included in the iPhone.

Hopefully the next revision will have Wifi. It wasn't included in v1 because they couldn't get open source drivers for low powered wifi chip, but they said they are working on it.

Imagine the type of stuff you can do on this phone:

- Skinned GUI/Widgets
- Games
- Multi-format Music/Video player (MP3, OGG, FLAC, AVI, DivX, etc)
- Data transmission over voice calls (acoustic coupling done in software)
- Portable Fax Machine (Ex: Get a contract faxed to your phone, you sign it with the stylus and fax it back)
- Visual Voice Mail/Large Mailboxes (Don't rely on cell provider to store messages.)
- Encrypted Phone Calls/Voice Modifier ( )

Todd sounds like 'Sheppard' out of Stargate Atlantis. haha!
#13.1 vetLOC on 15 Jan 2007 - 06:31
Ooo thanks! I try my best to sound studly and all.

Holy sibilant LOC. I don't listen often, but since it involved iPhone and porn I had to listen. The iPhone looks nice on the outside, but is ugly on the inside. Sony will never learn from Betamax and their arrogance (larger than Steve's) will hurt them in having any control in the format wars. Nice to see you guys didn't fanboy it up and kept it as they say in football,"firm, but fair."

Seriously though, which one of you trust fund babies is actually buying an iPhone? I mean iDunnowhatIwasthinkingCisco...whothehelliscomwave...RDF!

Are you saying I'm to hissy? Or that I still have alot of background noise? If it's the latter there is nothing else I can do about it. I've used 3 or 4 different headsets, 2 different sound cards and all sorts of other little things to get noice levels down. Other than using a notebook to record I don't see how else I can improve the background noise issue on my end.

LOC Don't worry about your background noise, i'm able to hear you well, many others will agree with me. You did a fantastic show hope to listen to some more by the way any word on the gaming podcasts?
#14.3 vetLOC on 15 Jan 2007 - 17:17
Well unless I do a gaming podcast by myself, I doubt there will be another one. I mean, I'd love to do one either by myself or with someone else. But save for the odd mention by community members like you Sniper101, I just don't know if the "need" is there, know what I mean? If I saw enough to warrant a podcast, I'd gladly do one.

LOC both hissy and some background noise. No disrespect, I could hear you just fine and it was a good show.
#15.1 vetLOC on 16 Jan 2007 - 02:43
Well obviously some people hear me alright, while others can't. I guess we'll have to live with that for now.

Glad you enjoyed the show though!
#16 bangbang023 on 16 Jan 2007 - 02:56
I didn't do any noise removal this show because I wanted to make sure the basically quality (namely, the clipping issues), were taken care of. I will take care of it better next week.
