Bangbang023: I want to ask you both of you guys, starting with Todd, one question ... high definition, is there a possibility that there is too much detail involved? Would you really want to see all that?
Todd: Absolutely.
Bangbang023: OH GOD.
Love the accent Rob

and lol @ Robs HTML tag of the week
Prehaps you should have one bangbang? lol. Prehaps "a stupid thing a customer has said to me of the week" lol.
btw, well done to Rob for swearing lol. Probably didn't mean it, but still funny lol.
There's nothing wrong with a british accent lol. God help what you guys would make of my South wales valleys accent lol. And it sounds even better when I am actually speaking welsh
I wanted to mention that FIC is working on an Unlocked Quad-Band GSM Linux based Open Source mobile phone. Everything from the UI down to the kernel can be modified.

Here are the specs of v1 available worldwide this February for $350:
* 120.7 x 62 x 18.5 (mm)
* 2.8" VGA (480x640) TFT Screen
* Samsung s3c2410 SoC @ 266 MHz
* Global Locate AGPS chip
* Ti GPRS (2.5G not EDGE)
* Unpowered USB 1.1
* Touchscreen
* micro-sd slot
* 2.5mm audio jack
* 2 additional buttons
* 1200 mAh battery (charged over USB)
* 128 MB SDRAM
* 64 MB NAND Flash
* Bluetooth
The touchscreen is multi-touch just like the iPhone. It also comes with a stylus for handwriting recognition, GPS, a removable battery as well as expandable micro-sd slot (At most 4GB right now). These features are not included in the iPhone.
Hopefully the next revision will have Wifi. It wasn't included in v1 because they couldn't get open source drivers for low powered wifi chip, but they said they are working on it.
Imagine the type of stuff you can do on this phone:
- Skinned GUI/Widgets
- Games
- Multi-format Music/Video player (MP3, OGG, FLAC, AVI, DivX, etc)
- Data transmission over voice calls (acoustic coupling done in software)
- Portable Fax Machine (Ex: Get a contract faxed to your phone, you sign it with the stylus and fax it back)
- Visual Voice Mail/Large Mailboxes (Don't rely on cell provider to store messages.)
- Encrypted Phone Calls/Voice Modifier (
Seriously though, which one of you trust fund babies is actually buying an iPhone? I mean iDunnowhatIwasthinkingCisco...whothehelliscomwave...RDF!
