Neowin.net & PowerUser.TV present the NeowinCAST News Edition for the week of January 12th 2007. This week our panel consists of bangbang023, LOC, and Fred with a special appearance by Rob. The group spends a lot of time discussing the RIAA and various DRM news items that have popped up in the past week while ending with some interesting new ways the New York City 911 system is being enhanced. The topics discussed this week include:
Download: NeowinCAST News Edition #17
- Proposed mandatory DRM for internet radio legislation
- Universal and Sony prohibit Zune sharing for certain artists
- Digital Music Sales Double in 2006
- NYC crime fighting going high tech
Some sound issues cropped us this week, in terms of variances in the volume, as a result of last minute cast member substitutions. We understand this can be frustrating for anyone listening to the cast (as it is for us), but we promise to work harder to eliminate such issues in the future. Thank you for your patience and we hope you can still enjoy the show.

edit: Yes! Rob and his great accent was present!
Damn that DRM
