No official guidance yet; company will provide more details when ready.

Microsoft released the following statement today from Kevin Kutz, Director, Windows Client, in response to recent speculation on the next version of the Microsoft Windows operating system:

“The launch of Windows Vista was an incredibly exciting moment for our customers and partners around the world, and the company is focused on the value Windows Vista will bring to people today. We are not giving official guidance to the public yet about the next version of Windows, other than that we’re working on it. When we are ready, we will provide updates.”

They said they'll remove this feature. Maybe it will be in the service pack. But they will include winkey+n... and its gonna scratch your nose.

Vista's modular...

To a degree yes but it's still mainly monolithic.

Vista might not be totally modular, but it's a start, and although MS would love to totally rip things out and change it even more, you already see what new driver/sound/graphics subsystems in Vista have done as far as 3rd party hardware and software makers being unable to fully support it yet.

Even though, truth be told, the likes of nVidia, creative and so on had months to get things to work.

Naw, the new feature is that you get to hear the ocean by pressing winkey+c.

Read the Daily Express - it's full of them on a daily basis, especially if Diana is involved.

Maybe he just wants Apple to stop stealing MS ideas and getting them out sooner.

Not meant as a flame, I know MS has "stolen" a lot, but you have to admit, Apples not exactly innocent either.

I'd like to see the stuff presented by Bill Gates at the begining of CES 2006, now those things shown were practical.
