The Vanishing Point Game may be long gone, but the efforts of the Neowin and unFiction communities lives on through the specially engraved AMD chip, announced today.
The winner of the 'meta prize' for Microsoft's puzzle game, designed for the launch of Windows Vista, sought to acknowledge the help she received from Neowin and so asked to have our community's name engraved along with herself and her husband.
Chip number 1, of the limited run of 1,000 AMD Athlon 64 FX, was presented to Audrey Murphy by representatives from AMD and Microsoft.

now neowin should make a contest for one of those chips :p!
I'll also have to join that queue too - I certainly didn't have the foggiest idea on how to do them.

Add me to that list as well. I had no idea how to do the puzzles either.
Then I remembered that:
a) It's a GAME.
b) Even if I complete them, it's still a DRAW for the prize.
c) There are bigger nerds than me who have more time to solve them continuously.
d) Odds of winning mathematically insignificant.
Not to be a stick in the mud, but how is that engraved?
No, it's actually laser etched.
Carved makes it sound like someone with a chisel and hammer wrote it.
So, you can display it, or use it, but not both.
Rob happens to be British so that's why he spelled it the way he did.
Most of the time...
Go away aloominium boy
Yes. Yes it does. It should go in the Wiktionary under "Computer Geek"
wow, you ain't kidding... that was painful to watch...
did they ever post the solutions? i was trying to figure them out but gave up fairly quickly...
LOL! and it does a very good job of stereotyping the players of this 'game'.
She just seemed really nervous.
hahaha
But (un)funny point aside....still cool and its that's such a nice gesture towards Neowin!
ChocIST
