Google Share Gains Quicken in U.S. Search Market

According to a monthly study by comScore Networks, Google Incorporated showed a marked acceleration in U.S. market share gains in the last month; the web search leader’s search market grew to 48.1% in February from 47.5% in January. From December to January, the company had only gained 0.2% from 47.3%. In January 2005, Google had 35.1% of the market, with Yahoo tagging behind at 31.8%. In January 2006, Google had a 41.4%. Yahoo Incorporated did not see a difference and remained at 28.1% of the U.S. market from January to February, while Microsoft Corporation's share dipped to 10.5% from 10.6%. IAC/InterActiveCorp's Ask.com saw its share slide 0.2% to 5.0% in February. Time Warner's network of Internet properties, which includes AOL, dipped 0.1% to 4.9%.

In other words, Google is not only dominating the market, they are still stealing market share from their competitors. In February, Google was the only search engine that continued to grow in popularity.

Google: Was 47.5, now 48.1
Yahoo: Was 31.8 in January, then remained at 28.1 in February
Microsoft: Dropped by 10.5 (so from 21.1) to 10.6
Ask.com: Was 5.0, now 0.2
Time Warner: Was 4.9, now 0.1

Heh, had to read if about 4 times to get it right

Meanwhile, I haven't even seen one person going to Yahoo Search...

Well, I use Google too, and they're good, but I don't like some of the search results lately with bogus sites starting to creep in to their results more and more.
