Adobe Systems’ long-awaited Creative Suite 3 has hit the shelves, adding the CS3 moniker to popular creative applications from both Adobe and the former Macromedia. Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Flash, Dreamweaver, Fireworks and Contribute are all available as Universal applications for both PowerPC and Intel-based Macs and support both Microsoft Windows XP and Windows Vista. Web professionals can import native Photoshop and Illustrator files directly into Flash and Fireworks with full fidelity, which Adobe says is a first for its software. Adobe Creative Suite 3 Design Premium, Design Standard, Web Premium, and Web Standard are immediately available to customers in North America at estimated street prices of $1799, $1199, $1599 and $999, respectively.

can you get a download copy and also get it on cd? (ie: with the same serial so you only get one copy)

You pick one or the other....

Yes, you can choose to receive a hard copy as well, but remember that you can store your downloaded version on a DVD yourself AND you can download more than once at any time in the future.

I wonder how many people have obtained pirated copies. This release date is more like, "Let the pirating commence!" message.
#3.1 illz55 on 18 Apr 2007 - 03:11
It won't be out online THIS quickly Matt. The scene release group(s) who decide to take it upon themselves to put the CS3 suite(s) out have some hard work, organizing and decision-making to do first. However, the release announcement does indicate that CS3 products will be available in the near future for free on the internet. I'm happy there haven't been any widespread fake or nuked releases yet though. That aside, I can't wait to use some of the new product. CS3 looks to be an amazing product line.

PS CS3 is already out there, and on the most obvious channels I might add. Includes a crack to remove 30 days activation limit. Sad...

Doesn't take long, does it?

Back in 2001, the Devil's Own Key had WinXP pirated 25 days before it was even released to consumers. Pirated copies are made extremely fast.

Actually, I had a look at the conversations at several of the torrent sites, and the general consensus is that the 'cracked' files are only those from the beta, no serial is supplied, and people are having major problems with parts of Photoshop - for example.

For me, better to stay legal and buy the real deal; Its just not worth the price of conconvienence of running dodgy exe files and all the problems that come with the territory.

The one that has been out for ages is the BETA though...

Adobe CS3 Design Premium has been available for quite a while but Mac only.

Does anyone know when trial copies of CS3 for Windows will be available? I can't see any on the Adobe site.

This is cool. I'll have to give it a whirl as I've only played with the beta. Sadly enough though, CS and CS3 are so much f--king better than CS2. Seems they got it down now though.

How are CS and CS3 better than CS2?

CS2 was buggier than s---, heavy on resources, and just not enough "bang" for my buck. A had a lot of problems when using it, such as using Ctrl Alt Z to back to my last step. It wanted to change me back to the previous layer I was working on, forcing me to find the layer I was going to work on. That's one of many to start with anyway..

CS is very light, and I still use it currently. Sure, there are a few features of CS2 that I liked and wish CS had, but working with CS2 was an outright pain as opposed to working with CS. It's funny too because I liked all the other CS2 apps that came with the CS2 suite. Ah well.

CS3, or at least the beta anyway, felt lighter on my resources, and I had fun playing with a lot of features. I didn't get to do much work in it, but I don't recall having the same issues as I did with CS2. I'll be toying with the CS3 trial though, and I'll hopefully be able to answer that question better.

Hopefully this will fix the printing issue for different paper sizes I have in the beta (along with many other people). There is a work around but its annoying it doesnt do it properly.

When will the demos be available? I'm eagerly waiting for CS3 versions of Fireworks, Flash and Dreamweaver.

Adobe's site says demo products are normally available 6-8 weeks after release. So, basically, it'll be awhile.

No Master Collection?

Maybe I'll just get Web and Design Premium, and then get Production when it comes out.
#9.1 NateB1 on 18 Apr 2007 - 17:13
Yes, there is an Adobe Creative Suite 3 Master Collection

Unfortunately, it isn't out yet, due to Premiere not being finished.
#9.2 Hawkeye on 20 Apr 2007 - 05:48
Adobe Creative Suite 3 Master Collection isn't coming until the fall, so you might as well get one of the others and upgrade later to Master Collection. That way, you can enjoy using the programs without waiting until fall.

O what a wonderful price, I think I'll purchase this...
