Nvidia Corporation’s latest high-end offering, the GeForce 8800 Ultra, has become available in Japan and the USA, about a week ahead of the original schedule. BFG Technologies and EVGA are offering the card in U.S. stores at price points starting from $830, according to Shopping.com, Pricewatch.com and PriceGrabber search-engines. Akiba PC Hotline web-site reports that GeForce 8800 Ultra graphics cards from Point of View company are available in Tokyo, Japan for ¥128 000 (approximately $1070). It is unclear whether customers will really start to buy the GeForce 8800 Ultra, which comes for 33% higher price compared to the GeForce 8800 GTX amid 2% - 15% performance boost over the latter.

I really think that one single line should make up the mind of anyone even considering this... Save yourself the money and overclock the cheaper cards yourself. Really is amazing to me they can even try and pass these things off as something special.

I don't blame anyone for trying to make money. I think it's absurd they try to rape thier customes though. It's a bit pricey for an OC especially when you can't take full advantage of the cards in either XP or Vista.

im not buying it even if i had the cash, it saves on the worry that i have to send it back and wait for 2 weeks while they replace one... and then it might happen again... and again, just like what happened with my 7900gtx... well if this drives the price of the non ultra 8900's , yay for us

Haha I hope they sell none of these and they realize how ****ing arrogant they are if they think people are stupid enough to spend $1000 on a crappy video card!! You must be a total moron if you go and spend that much money on a video card!!!
