CNN launched their new website late last week without unveiling their 'free live TV' service. That functionality has just been added:

"All CNN.com video, live and on-demand is available to users for free, making the site’s news video offering the most extensive on the Web."

Visitors to CNN.com can now watch CNN International along with several other live video streams for free. The old subscription-based Pipeline service has been discontinued. Personal journalistic preference aside, CNN is the first major American news network to introduce a service like this. Hopefully we'll see other networks follow suit.

I absolutely love the new CNN.com and the Live Video Beta. All of this video web convergence makes me all teary-eyed...

Nice to see others bracing the internet like this with live TV.

Tested it with RealPLayer 11 Video download and it works after you set a time duration so its like a internet DVR. Not like there is anything to DVR off of CNN.

I really don't agree with CNN's perspective on political issues, but it is cool to see them launch a live video stream and make it free. I would definitely like it if some other news channels followed suit!

CNN gonna have to pay me money to watch any videos from their site or TV channel.

I agree. It's overtly boring and bland. The best part of it is ... well, there's isn't. haha I'm surprised people still watch CNN.

Now there is another cable news channel that's actually watched more than any another in the US that isn't boring and bland. Their online offerings aren't that spectacular though.

I sure wish they had done this when they still covered hard news. Like Fox News, CNN has just become an infotainment channel now.

Both FNC and CNN both do a good job covering hard news, except when you have 24/7 coverage you can't talk about the War on Terror and Illegal Immigration the ENTIRE time

Fox News has had online video for a while now, I don't know how they can "follow suit"?

Over in the UK, the BBC has enabled users to view a live stream of BBC News 24 for quite some time now.
