At the Apple Expo 2007 conference in Paris this week, Iomega Corporation unveiled two new external dual-drive products. The duo 500GB UltraMax Pro Desktop hard disk drives are fully removable, which enables hot-swap functionality, and are now available for about $600. One model includes two FireWire 800 ports, a single FireWire 400 port and one USB 2.0 port interfaces, and the other a USB 2.0 and eSATA 3 interface, Iomega said. Meanwhile, Iomega also added three products to its UltraMax Desktop Hard Drive line. Two quad interface models, one with a capacity of 500GB and the other with 750GB, will ship in October for $220 and $320, respectively. A dual-interface 500GB UltraMax Desktop drive, priced at $190, is also slated to ship next month, the company said.

What's this got to do with Macs?

Not sure to be honest, since they universally work on PCs and Macs alike

When's the last time you saw a PC with Firewire 800? All Macs come with it as standard, it's the fastest interface you can get outside the Mac Pros.

Because the new drives are styled like the Mac Pro. The new drives also look suspiciously like drives sold by G-Tech.
