Thanks to the Gmail anti-spam engineers and the feedback they receive from their users, friends, and colleagues, the spam situation on Google’s e-mail service is improving. As most e-mail providers do, Gmail offers a "Report Spam" button that informs the company which e-mails do not deserve placement in the user’s inbox. Not only is more spam being placed in the appropriate folder, but it appears that spammers are getting discouraged. According to the anti-spam team over at Google, attempts to spam Gmail users have been levelling off over the last year and more recently, are even declining slightly. It’s too bad no numbers were actually given, seeing as for all we know Gmail accounts could be getting the most spam of all, but regardless this is excellent news for all the Gmail users out there!

i always use the report spam button for anything not supposed to be in my inbox. seems to work well.
other then known spam for using email address on innapropriate sites with warez and stuff like that gotta love the filters. I actually used my email address on some website for a credit card application, next thing i know next few days my inbox was full with crap offers from different companies. and using their remove me from list feature is highly unrecommended since they sell your email address to other companies that to this kind of crap. can;t wait fro legal action against these lowlife losers that do nothing but look for email addresses ont he web and create autobots that do this automatically.
BOO!!!!!. Death to spamers!
They support incredibly much more than just blacklists too with that, with customized actions, so it should be a goldmine if you discover it.

Yes, I did. And it fails a lot.
I also added my newsletters as contacts, and made filters to put them in the inbox: Gmail still tags some mails as spam.
OMG, this guy never used hotmail it seems....
The gmail spam filter is 99,9% efficient for me. I get may be one spam per month in my inbox.

Exactly.
Gmail is the best on filtering spam.
Hotmail is the worst. What's Microsoft doing with all its money.
What a disrespectful company.
