Amazon.com Incorporated has released its "Best of 2007" lists, which include the bestselling, most positively reviewed, most-wished-for and favourite gift products as determined by Amazon.com customers in 2007. The e-retailer launched in July 1995 and to this day is one of the biggest and most popular online stores, offering millions of unique new, refurbished and used items in various categories. Amazon is often used for verifying how well a given product is selling, whether it’s to prove that Mac and Linux computers are becoming more popular, or to argue which format is winning the HD war. Even if you don’t use it, I’m sure you’ll find the results quite interesting.

I bought it for my father in law. Once the HD format war is over, I'll be buying one for myself in the format winner.

I hope you live to a ripe old age; then maybe you'll get to see a winner!

I think you can buy anything from them short of a functioning nuclear weapon!

This list is much better than the PC World one. I don't know about everyone else, but I've been wishing for a baking mat for years.

Wow, the Wii sure is popular for its second year.

I'm surprised there were 3 matching items between "most wished for" and "most gifted" ("Noel" by Josh Groban, iPod nano, Numi's Bouquet bamboo gift set).

Planet Earth will be the first thing I buy when I get a HD TV and a high def disc player. Until then I am holding off buying the regular DVD. I have seen it already in HD and man! nothing comes close.
