This year's CES saw the last keynote speech by Bill Gates as a full-time Microsoft employee. Microsoft's booth focused on a number of key initiatives this year.
What seems to be the single biggest initiative at Microsoft is Windows Live. Microsoft demonstrated Events for Live Spaces, extensions to Office to support Live within the program, and a full tour of their myriad of updates that came out this past November.
Microsoft also showed off a lot of new Games For Windows titles at their booth as well as announced a bunch of new ones too. Microsoft seems to be genuinely trying to help get gaming going (even if the process is a pain in the butt).
Windows Home Server also received some attention but what surprised us overall was the emphasis on Microsoft Live.

So, nope I dont use Live and not planning to use it anytime soon (unless I see some astonishing changes).
I am a bit concerned about Microsoft taking this path. Anything would be more valuable than their Live product chain; heck some Ultimate Extras development would be more pleasant lol

The only thing I use on Live is the search engine once in a while, as an alternative to Google and Yahoo. I don't care about any thing else that Live offers, nor am I interested in so-called SaaS products.
SaaS is going to be a failure. People are interested in content, and hosting. They're not interested in some corporate menace meddling in their lives. Every time MS offers something (which is usually a knockoff of the latest trendy product/service) it is almost always deceptive. Their latest scheme is to shove Silverlight down everyone's throats. When are you going to stop bull*****ing us, MS?
Live Maps is simply a better experience with the high quality aerial photography. Microsoft are getting better with their geocoding, but it doesn't seem to match Google Maps quite so reliably on that front yet, but it has long passed the point of not needing Google Maps again.
And of course, it's much nicer not having the Google branding watermarks in the images!
Im not convinced why I should "force" myself to get used to Live Search. every time I give it a shot, the results are way off or stupid. but when I use the same search phrase on Google, the satisfying result is usually within the first 3 results.
Im not a Google fanboy. wherever I see a good product, I take it. IMO, Google offers way better search engine hands down; way better email service. On the other hand, I use Live messenger.
I just dont understand why any1 would sit down and "get used" to a lower quality service (Live Search that is).
