- WOHAA! Any date? Is M1330 a good laptop? I heard about electric shocks in those laptops.

- Very nice. Finally Ubuntu is offered on a small powerful machine (and it looks great to boot
). Ubuntu works great on my M1210 laptop, so I can imagine things will be better for the M1330.I heard about electric shocks in those laptops.
Where did you hear this from? That's creepy.
EDIT: @Slimy: Dell's Ubuntu page has no mention of Ubuntu on M1330s, but it is mentioned on a Direct2Dell blog post. Might want to change the source to this one. -

- Dell really needs to switch to PClinuxOS, much friendlier distro and its team dosent seem to hate programmers making money out of thier hard work, which unlike Ubuntu includes proprietary software. (The gnu is flawed by the way because eventually computers and thier operating systems will reach a point where they dont break and a 1 year old could understand them so paid support will vanish and essentially hard working programmers wont exist). Oh and PClinuxOs allows one to easily access the root account so it makes it easier for the average user.

- Maybe I am a bit irritable today, but Whaaaaaaaaa!
First off, proprietary license negotiation would be additional work and hassle for Dell to negotiate, as it would be illegal for them to distribute it without some sort of license/legal arrangement.
Secondly, your "points" on which team likes/hates programmers is not relevant, and quite subjective. I am sure there are great guys on each team, and some real asswipes, too.
Third, Ubuntu uses sudo. Is that so friggin hard? No. And, get this, if you want a root account, just sudo passwd root, and voila! you have a root account.
Any more "my distro is better than yours" whining you need to get off your chest? Because your post was almost purely subjective. (the first point I addressed wasn't subjective - just wrong) -

- @Iridium Out of everything you say, Dell is going for the easiest and manteined distro with regular releases. Dell isn't going to risk their name and support a new distro that can vanish anytime.
Also, why does the end user would need a root account?. Doing that would get them where Windows is with their administrator accounts...
I really don't get your point..
