- In my organization we see a lot of people having trouble with SP3 with the spell checker.
This might be connected to Copernic, though. -

- It's kind of annoying to me how Microsoft continues to spend large ammounts of time realeasing big service packs for 4-5 year old products. The time spent on that could be spent much better working out the bugs with their NEW products that everyone cares about.

- If MS dropped Office 2003 support, you don't think that there wouldn't be complaints? Office 2003 is definitely still used more than 2007, especially by businesses, so MS is doing the right thing here.

For my needs, there is absolutely no reason to upgrade my beloved Office 2003. I have played with 2007 and find the Ribbon to be a pain. I know where everything is in 2003. -

You can't live in the past forever. People should be at least running both Office versions now so they can get orientated to 2007. Eventually all support for 2003 will end and you will have to upgrade. What will people do then except complain? -

- How about the fact our school could not even THINK about goign to 2007 because nothing on mac could read the new file format till just a week or so ago when 2008 came out. Even as it is because 2008 didn't come out till AFTER the semester started it will have to wait till fall.
Also the fact of WTF is the point of upgrading if it offeres you no new features. Also we have people that barely can get around 2003 (just like most places do) so imagine how it will be if we moved everyone to 2007?
Run both versions? Are you on crack? Do you even know how many issues that will cause? With file associations and all that, let alone im not even sure if you can run both versions on the same machine. You also know *NOTHING* of company's. You NEVER EVER run more than one version of a software package on your computers. It causes all kinds of headaches for the IT staff. -

I will have to upgrade??? What will they do, send Upgrade Police to my door? Will my PC start stop working? If the software does everything I need it to do (and it does), then why spend hundreds of dollars to upgrade?
We still run Windows 2000 and Office XP on some machines at work. You have been brainwashed by MS!
Having said all that, MS isn't evil like Intuit which changes Quicken's file format so that you have to upgrade if you want to continue downloading your financial data from the bank. -

It's worse than that. I distinctly remember having to pay every year to be able to access past data. No current licence, no access to your data, even if you aren't using Quicken anymore. Try explaining that to the taxman when he wants another copy of your 2004 returns.

- I'm pretty sure I just got this off Microsoft update today? - or do they mean automatically installing - pretty sure it was checked by default too on Vista. (Just got a new computer in the house and had to set it up).
This is probably the last service pack for Office 2003, so if you aren't a fan of Office 2007, slipstream this service pack and burn yourself that new CD.
