Haha, nice. I was thinking more along the lines of
"Thank you." - your bank

- "Alienware is ready to supply their system with two 64GB Solid State drives, however in this case you will have to pay extra $1250."
I never did understand that. "Oh, just drop another $1.2k for this and you're at the top of the gaming world...for 6 months."

- So how many 360's and/or PS3's can I get for the price of this baby?

- Wouldn't they have gotten more out of the gpu's from using the AMD790fx chipset boards.

- Totally unnecessary, and probably ridiculously overpriced like all of Alienware's crap.

- The words "over" and "kill" come into mind.

- (jwjw1 said @ #7.1)don't forget 'over' and 'priced'
i agree with you man, the pc is not that good in terms of new tech ... sure it has a 4 graphic cards but thaz about it (and some other overpriced components that you do not need) ... sadly, for that amount of money you can get newer hardware (better) and just as powerfull (i am not into overclocking so i do prefer factory clocked whe the big bold "overclocked to 3.33 ghz doesn't mean much to me" ... a good way of wasting 10g if ou have em

- for all you people who say its a waste of money, then you obviously cant afford it. If you love computer gaming and want the cutting edge and have the disposable money to afford it, its an awsome piece of hardware.

does a single 3850 x2 beat a single 8800gt? gts g92? (dx10 cards) 7950 x2 (hit me if that's not the right name for it) for dx9?
i can hand build a 2x 8800 gts g92 system with dual x16 support pcie 2.0 etc on the mobo, same processor (hand over clocked), same specs on ram (or better) for less than half the cost of that bloat.
with the blu ray and mega sized HDs (probably not a bad idea), the final cost of the hand built rig would probably go a couple hundred over half. but 5k for that? pffft.

- You might as well just build it yourself for that price. Save the money and guaranteed good parts.

That's what I thought, too. But not everyone can hand-build their own stuff or know where to get a deal.
I recently rediscovered some old receipts for computer stuff I bought (parents paid for) when I was a mid-teenager. Sure, I knew how to put things together myself, but the prices were ridiculous - for those components I'd never spend that much. Back then I was a novice at pricing things out.
When I hear of a system like this, I can imagine three types of people buying it: 1) Non-techie parents, potentially for non-techie kids; 2) Non-techie adults for themselves; 3) Lazy techies or techies with little free time. -

- If you don't know where to get a good deal, and are a member of Neowin, you probably need a rolled up newspaper whack to the head.

Using a PC built for under £300 from one of those sites, that can easily play games like Quake 4 at max settings without lag (won't play games like Crysis or Unreal 3, but it's an example).

- ATI? heh, CrossFire? LOL!
i think they can do alot better than that
honestly, how many mobos support CrossFire?
do people even think about ATI and CrossFire when they go to buy a gaming machine?
dont mean to bash them, but they are really lacking these days

I don't know if you are being sarcastic or not, but there's hell a lot more motherboards supporting Crossfire than SLI. Pretty much every mid range to high end Intel chipset based motherboard supports Crossfire. My last 4 motherboards all supported it. (P5W64-WS Pro, P5K-Deluxe, P5K3-Deluxe, P5E3-Deluxe, etc) -

LOL
seeing as the motherboard comes with the PC what difference does it really make? Im going to go out on a limb here and say whatever motherboard Alien are supplying with the PC comes with crossfire and there be the same in this model so it like.... doesn't matter.
