Microsoft announced its acquisition of Komoku, a company that offers advanced root kit detection capabilities. Founded in 2004, Komoku is a startup backed by the U.S. governments Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, the Navy and the Department of Homeland Security.

Microsoft, has said that it will build Komuku's technology into future versions of both its Windows OneCare consumer security products, its line of security software for businesses, Forefront, as well as Stirling, its new next generation of Forefront.

+1 what?

empty promises?

they are incorporating Komuku's technology into their next gen version for forefront.

and "Komoku is a startup backed by the U.S. governments Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, the Navy and the Department of Homeland Security."

Would say this is a big step forward, and not a "empty promise" :p
