- I love some of the related news this site comes up with, for example "Windows XP SP3 to arrive before Longhorn"

- Installed. The build number 3311 no longer shows in winver. Seems to run just fine although can't say I noticed any problems with previous build.

- RC2 is released so RTM is arriving shortly after that. This seems to be the pattern. I can't wait for the final RTM.

- If this is a RC2 refresh, it's most likely the escrow build. Basically, if no major bugs are found in the next few weeks, it's the final build.

The primary goal of the release is for its developers to validate improvements to the Windows Update procedure, but a couple of minor additions were also included. As with the previous RC2, you need to download and run a small program available from Microsoft Download Center that makes a registry change on your PC in order for the update to be offered.
