Only donated $1.3m that's crap, why not give away a few billion if you REALLY care, and not just do it because you have too.

Firstly, "nobody" has to. Secondly, $1.3m might not be a MASSIVE amount in the grand scheme of things, but it's still something. Jesus....Neowin's going to pot with all these people now!

Considering how much it costs to run MSN Messenger it's quite an amount to voluntarily give away.

Do a little research into how much Bill Gates has donated to charity then come back and comment again. I'm sure he's donated much more than yourself.

A tax deductible is not a donation but a way to increase your own incomes.

Unicef is just one of many you can choose from if I remember correctly, each supported by using a different tag before your name. Just putting *unicef only supports Unicef. Check out the link in the news item for details of the other tags to use.

No Microsoft doesn't 'HAVE' to, but in my mind they kind of do.

Giving away money is only going to give them abit of publicity and make it seem like there good, but to be honest, $1.3m isn't a lot for one of the biggest companies and one with alot of money, and if they don't give money, there going to get these organisations breathing down there neck, as you would expect

Yes it's nice of them to give the money away and there helping them, I just think $1.3m isn't really a lot!

I'm not on about how much Bill Gates has given away, I'm talking about Microsoft, and yes I bet they have given a far amount away in the past.

They don't donate money for publicity. A large portion of their donations are done without public knowledge. The "I'm" initiative REQUIRES public participation for success. This "small" $1.3 million saves hundreds of thousands of lives. Every little bit helps.

I just hope (after your ignorant rant) that you have the "I'm" tag on your MSN name.
