- In what form will this new version of Media Centre come? Will it just be an update/service pack (free?) for the Media Centre editions of Vista (Home premium and Ultimate) or will they release an entirely new SKU? I hope not, Vista has enough editions already. Also releasing a new version while continuing to sell the old version would just confuse customers.

- I expect they'll release it as a new SKU. They just won't call it Vista (I hope). Probably Windows Media Center 2009.

- I should think this time around it would be free, rather than a paid upgrade that the early XP media centre upgrades were.
I'm praying for the following features with this
MHEG-5 support - Digital teletext
DVB-S/2 support - Satellite tuner card support for the freesat service over here. If they are working on DVB support for direct-tv in the US this should hopefully happen.
EPG - Different EPG's per tuner card would really help, i.e I want to build a box with both a DVB-T and DVB-S card and have it show all my channels EPG info. -

The latter two - absolutely!!! I could live without the first.
Freesat support is pretty critical for the UK now.

- DVB-T support for New Zealand is also a must.

- +1 million to mentalindustries. I hope at least that it'll be free for people already with the current Media Center.

It’s not clear how many testers are part of this current test phase. There’s also no word on when and if Microsoft is going to tap the many other Fiji testers whom the company has signed up over the past year-plus or when Microsoft expects Fiji — also known as “Media Center Edition +1″ in some circles — is due out.
Last anyone heard, Fiji was supposed to build on the functionality that Microsoft delivered as part of Vista Service Pack 1. Some potential testers said they heard that Fiji would deliver some of the fit and finish that was missing in the Vista release. DirectTV support also is expected to be added to Media Center with the Fiji release.
