I was shocked to see 6 of them on the shelf in Walmart the other day...then went back the next morning and they were gone lol.

not really. black would sell like crazy but it's not like the white isn't selling well anyway. I think this is just probably a Wii with an updated cheaper chipset for them, that maybe adds one feature or so.

And just because that doesn't make it any less credible still doesn't imply that it's a good idea to use the term. SKU is corporate marketing-speak. The words "model" or "version" work perfectly well to describe what is being discussed. If you do not work retail, you have no reason to use the term "SKU." If you do work retail, you have no reason to use the word "SKU" with people who don't. Most of us here do not work retail. Just because someone has "insider lingo" doesn't mean they should use it. They don't come off sounding intriguing, enigmatic, or knowledgeable. They come off sounding like an ass, which is what's happening to the tool who wrote this article. Guys, we're smarter than that - don't buy into stupid word substitutions when the existing geek vernacular suffices perfectly to describe something.

But it may not be a new model or version. It could simply be they decide to throw in an orange controller. It's a new SKU and the term is perfectly acceptable.

"Package," "Bundle," or "Set" would be a better term if that were the case.

Except it isn't news if they change the color of the controller, it is filler material. That is the real problem here - when sites start reporting on aesthetic changes in an attempt to try to one up each other, then we're left with a glut of re-hashed press releases about every single little change that occurs to a product in the name of "the most current news." A lot of things fall into this category, actually, such as the numerous "so-and-so filed for this patent" stories that are increasingly common. That is nothing but speculation of the highest order, especially when many companies file for a swarm of patents as legal CYA.

And CelticWhisper is absolutely right in what he says, I am glad someone understood my intent. These days I feel the only gaming reviews I can actually trust to be worthwhile are those from ZeroPunctuation, because he maintains a healthy level of disrespect toward the gaming industry rather than fawning over every little move they make because that is what the people want.

That's incredibly unlikely. The machine's not designed to handle that, and probably never will. It does a modest job with standard definition, so we won't be seeing it do a very good job with HD.
