Two days ahead of its much-ballyhooed 3G iPhone launch, Apple is rolling out its new Internet service, MobileMe, Wednesday night. However, Apple said .Mac users won't be able to access many of the online services between 6 p.m. and 12 a.m. Pacific Time Wednesday night while it tweaks the new service, with the exception of .Mac Mail accessed via a desktop application, iPhone or iPod touch.Apple describes MobileMe as "Exchange for the rest of us." It replaces the .Mac online service that enabled users to check e-mail, publish Web sites and sync personal information such as e-mail, calendars and bookmarks. MobileMe stores e-mails, calendars and a picture gallery on an online server—or "cloud"—and pushes them down to an iPhone, iPod touch, Mac and PC. When changes are made on one device, the cloud automatically updates the other devices.

Does it do Push Delete when I delete a something on one device?
Could it manage 12 different email accounts from 6 different domains?
Can it work both connected to the net and disconnected? (traveling away from WiFi)
If it would do that and work with my PC and Mac, where do I sign up?
Yes
No. it works with the .Mac/mobileme accounts. It isn't really possible to add push-style
delivery to a server that doesn't have it already. The only way to find out if there's new
mail is to go and check like your parents did.
If they did just make their servers poll your 3rd-party mail servers every few minutes
then it'd introduce even more latency:
check yahoo account -> download -> mobile me server -> push -> iphone
vs
check yahoo account -> download -> iphone
You might as well just configure your mail client (wherever it is) to poll your server more
frequently.
If you're looking to add push support to your ISP/GMail/etc mail accounts: this isn't it.
The parts that make sense to work offline like iDisk do.
The parts that make sense to work on a PC will work on a PC will, though not all of the features are available (ie: Back to My Mac, iPhoto syncing, etc)
