Asustek Computer plans to launch more Eee PCs designed to address different market segments, according to company president Jerry Shen. Shen said he anticipates the netbook and Mobile Internet Device (MID) markets will offer substantial business potential in the future generating demand as high as one billion units based on forecasts by Intel. He also noted that Intel is expected to keep shipping Atom N270 CPUs through late second quarter 2009 implying notebook vendors will have consistent processor support.

Does anyone here on Neowin have an Eee PC? I'm curious about them, how's Xandros? Whats compatible with it? Is it powerful? I mean, I've read benchmarks about those Atom processors and alot of people found they just weren't powerful enough for relatively simple tasks, is this the case in the Eee PC?

I thought it was a new version of the destkop ones (As featured in the picture). Ive got one of the first EEEPC's and I love it. Installed Ubuntu and ran Riceys EEE Tweaks script and it works brilliantly. Im definately interested in one of the desktop ones.
