It's no secret that the Windows Mobile Based Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 is one of the most anticipated mobile devices set to come down the pipeline. Today, Sony Ericsson announced a few of the release dates, though North American consumers may wind up feeling disappointed once they realize no information about when the device will hit their shores was given. Those of you in the UK, Germany, and Sweden, however, will be glad to know that the device is set to hit shelves on September 30, 2008. You can almost taste the panel based interface goodness now, can't you?

To celebrate the upcoming release and to show off the Xperia X1 in all of it's glory, Sony Ericcson is planning a live webcast on September 15, 2008 at 13:00 GMT + 1. They will use that time to show off the Xperia X1 and premier the first episode of the new alternative reality thriller Johnny X (No, I never heard of it, either).

I wonder how long before someone says "At last HTC got some competition, they suck, SE will do Windows Mobile the right way". That will be flamebait for the person who says it.

Seen it earlier, many people don't know that HTC making the phone for SE :p

Gee, NOT coming soon to the American shores.....
Thanks a lot cell phone carriers to getting people use to paying little or nothing for a wireless phone, which prevents a lot
of these phones from coming here for months.

Well if it isn't a schedule release date for America, the only hope for us is if the phone is quad band, then we can buy one from the UK
