This week Microsoft UK has announced that they will release Equipt on the 20th October in the UK. Equipt is the all-in-one subscription service of essential Microsoft software and services.

Microsoft have pulled together their most popular productivity software, including Office Home and Student 2007, Windows Live OneCare, Windows Live Mail, Messenger and Photo Gallery. All in one easy to install package.

Equipt also installs the Microsoft Office Live Workspace connector on the Microsoft Office tool bar, so users can save documents to their own dedicated online workspace and invite friends and classmates to collaborate and share.

And as it’s a subscription based model subscribers will receive free upgrades to the latest versions of Microsoft Office Home and Student as well security updates for Windows Live OneCare as they’re released free of charge.

One subscription could cover the average household’s quota of PC’s in one fell swoop as the software’s licence cover up to 3 PC’s

Equipt is available 20th October from PC World for an annual subscription cost of £59.99

It's to give "competitors" like Real some time to prepare the "competition".

Is this for a year? £60 doesn't seem worth it for those things alone, especially as you can get Office Ultimate for £38 for life.

Erm, that's exclusively for University students (those with an .ac.uk email address and studying on a under/post-grad course) or staff so it's not exactly a fair comparison.

you can? is that student pricing?
either way over here in the states it is a good enough program for the novice computer user. when you figure the average user would pay $150 over 3 years for antivirus plus the one time $150 cost of home and student. only paying $210 over a 3 year period (us dollars) is a savings no doubt.

and cream it was only released here on July 15th so it hasn't been too long. and as far as i can tell is still available exclusively at Circuit City.
