It is no longer necessary to own Apple TV or TiVo digital video recorder or VUDU box to watch YouTube clips on TV. YouTube is joining MySpace, Yahoo and others in bringing the web based features to the TV screen.

YouTube blog reports that their TV Website offers a dynamic, lean-back, 10-foot television viewing experience through a streamlined interface that enables users to discover, watch and share YouTube videos on any TV screen with just a few quick clicks of remote control.

Users can browse and play videos from their PS3 or Wii based web browser by visiting YouTube TV site. This site cannot be opened from a PC's browser without installing a browser add-on like User Agent Switcher and is not useful for Xbox gamers due to the lack of an in-built web browser in Xbox 360's dashboard.

YouTube TV is currently in Beta.

Finally!

And not to be an jerk, but "features" is spelled wrong in the end of the first paragraph.

"a" jerk. If you're going to correct someone's grammar or spelling, it's best to use good grammar yourself.

I also think the link should be http://www.youtube.com/tv not http://www.youtube.com/TV

Yet, on YouTubes own blog it's a lowercase link.

Exactly. The correct link is lowercase "tv", not uppercase. Uppercase "TV" goes to a user's page that hasn't been updated in ages.

Wish they would actually update the dang wii browser to support newer flash because you can't watch stuff on sites like hulu on the wii without it.

Perhaps it will look different via Youtube TV now?

I was wondering what they were talking about too. I guess they just formatted the site to work better on it now. I'd check it out myself, but my router died the other day, so my PS3 is offline at the moment.

The /TV beta is designed to look like it's playing on your console like a set-top box.

Cool I'll have to check it out. I've watched videos before on Youtube with the Wii, but it was awkward having to zoom in sometimes. I do wish flash was supported though because I can't use hulu.com on my Wii and I enjoy that site.
