Shortly prior to Obama's inauguration the official White House website was updated with a new layout and new features. Already seen has been the new administration implement Change.gov which was widely met with satisfaction amongst users. With its launch it brought a new type of interconnectedness between government and citizen. The new Whitehouse.gov resembles Change.gov in that it holds a wealth of various information and displays it in an easily accessible format. It takes the place of Change.gov and will be the new platform in which the Obama administration hopes to provide further involvement of citizens and government.
The site contains information on the plans for several initiatives and topic, as well as information regarding American politics in general. It is a welcome change to the White House main page, in both functionality and appearance.

Agreed 1000%!!

True, but in this Politically Correct age, it's OK to deride white people but not OK to say anything bad about blacks, hispanics, or other minorities. At least that's what the liberal media will tell you.
sad but basically true... they can go screw themselves as far as im concerned
bottom line = political correctness is just wrong after a certain extent... cause take Christmas for example... they say 'happy holidays' just to please a small group of people when vast majority of American's prefer Merry Christmas etc etc.
p.s. but anyways... i think Obama is already being setup for failure cause everyone thinks he's gonna 'change' everything when the economy aint something that cant be 'fixed' in a 4 year term (but atleast Obama keeps saying that

Liberal media? tell me something where was this liberal media when it came to the Iraqi invasion? Fox is still number viewed show, clear channel owns a majority of radio stations (they are conservatives) and probably have the racist jokes you must like, Rush and oreily, hannity top radio shows. sorry kid can't use MSM as an excuse.
The election has been over for some time now, it's time to stop crying. Should the government not maintain and update their web sites?
As to comments to our tax dollars at work... this is one of the area's it should. This site is for the world, and especially the united states and a means to communication.
I especially love the quick and access links to weekly video address, executive orders, and agenda's.
Not to mention the fact that he has DEMANDED that he be allowed to keep his blackberry despite the fact that this violates several dozen laws and regulations put in place on the white house and the president specifically and could pose a huge security risk.
Not to directly insult the man, heaven forbid, but he strikes me as one of the 40somethings who used to love the latest technology but is now in middle-management completely out of his depth of understanding. He waves the latest buzz words around, but with a vague panic in his eyes, worried he misunderstood his employee's explanation of what it meant.
Not that it's any worse then 60+ rich entrenched guys (on both sides) who refuse to accept new technology... it's just...not as far forward as one would think.
personally i hope one of the early tasks on the list is to recreate all federal sites into more user friendly infrmation sites...
as it stands 99% of information for US government is old and stupid to deal with the sites for travel.gov are pathetic. sites like state.gov need a make over and a major facelift, the entire us federal frontend needs to be unified and modernized... i really hope this new CTO will get down to it and that this site is just step 1...
if they hold to the transparency and really do have the staff posting to the blog, and all of the executive orders freely viewable right on the website thats a huge step.
Why not discuss that Obama's whitehouse.gov is rife with problems? Mainly, that the Presidential Slideshow only has 38 presidents?
