Late yesterday it was reported that the email system for the White House was offline and there was no estimated time until it would be back up. "Press Secretary Robert Gibbs announced the technical snafu at his 1:30 p.m. briefing, apologizing to the media for the e-mail silence this afternoon."It appears that it was a server overload as the new administration was migrating their transition email over to the official White House email servers. The outage affects both incoming and outgoing emails. The server being knocked offline is probably not a coincidence after the Obama staff complained that the technology was archaic.
When Obama fought so hard to keep his blackberry for email one must wonder how frustrated he must be when the White House email system goes down. Fortunately for Obama, his blackberry does not use the MS exchange platform.

Anyway just sounds like they need some more servers. No biggie
just because some IT staff didn't do a transition between email systems right doesnt mean the system is broke, we had a pain in the ass converting our groupwise mail store to exchange back in 2001...
Anyways it's gonna be really costly to upgrade the current infrastructure, according to whats been said about the current office infrastructure.
Oh, wait....
The mail servers were Exchange 2003, and a SAN, and the temp mail was stored on Gmail. I wonder was it really going on.
1. computers are mainstream in McCain's generation
2. Does Palin know how to user a computer?
yes yes .. all this is sarcasm.. but i thought i'd throw a bit of humor into this before some mccain supporter blames this on Obama hahaha

I thought humor was supposed to be...funny?
Right... because when e-mail goes down it automatically has to be caused by Exchange. There are no other possible causes.
You know, unprofessional journalism is one thing but this is getting pretty bad....

I think the comment was meant more along the lines of the fact that he still has access to his email, rather than pointing the blame at Exchange.
