After Google gave away the release date for the upcoming Adamo, Dell has come out and made it official; the world has a new player in the game of thin notebooks. The notebook itself features a one-piece aluminium body, as well as a glass display as sits at a mere .65 inches. It has a 13.4" screen, 2 gigabytes of DDR3 RAM, WiFi support and Bluetooth 2.1. Apparently, it'll last you a good 5 hours or so. An Adamo with the aforementioned specifications will set you back $2000, whereas if you fork out $2700 you can get an upgrade to a 1.4 GHz processor, 4 GB RAM and an AT&T 3G WWAN card.

The Adamo by Dell brand is being supported by innovative and new approaches to marketing and promotion for Dell. Designed to challenge people's perceptions of what a computer is, the Adamo by Dell brand was inspired by fashion, luxury brands and timeless design.
Dell has looked beyond traditional approaches to reaching computer shoppers and launched a provocative campaign featuring:
* A stylish worldwide print campaign shot by acclaimed British-based photographer Nadav Kandar and featuring high-fashion models that reinforces the "fall in love" positioning. Kander, whose work is celebrated in galleries worldwide, also shot the moving portfolio, "Obama's People," which appeared in The New York Times Magazine earlier this year.
* AdamoByDell.com, the centerpiece of the campaign and a highly stylized site where viewers can learn about Adamo, register for updates and, beginning today, place orders. Since its launch last month, AdamoByDell.com has attracted nearly 800,000 unique visitors from around the world and more than 1 million page views.
* Artful packaging in which the product arrives "floating" in a clear box with minimal clutter - a beautiful experience for a sophisticated product.

Can you spot it? Yes, Dell themselves have already mentioned the next iteration of the Adamo, the Adamo 9. As well as that, they have noted a Studio One 22 device. Keep your eyes peeled as more information on this emerges later.
If you wish to purchase an Adamo, you can pre-order one now from Dell's website, for a release on March 26 in the countries mentioned above.

Thanks for the sarcasm, lol. This thing makes the Macbook Air look like value for money!
the adamo and its features looks great, but definitely a tough price..

Yeah, they don't include the 128GB SSD standard, but you get a faster CPU/GPU that's not only 1lb lighter, but also $200 cheaper.
either way, theyre both expensive laptops that most people cant afford anyway

i dont want to get off topic, but theres no way you can compare a 4200rpm disk to 7200rpm. or whatever. you can easily notice a difference , especially with something slow like 4200
What...maybe you should try using a SSD Drive. Microsoft office (word/powerpoint/excel) loads in under 1 second. Outlook is up in 1 second. Firefox is up much faster.
Lets hope Dell doesnt screw up and have hardware issues after the product is released. This is also a new product from Dell and they tend to be a little expensive at first. I remember when we started to order machines from dell we were paying over 1000 for the desktops a few years ago...now we pay about $400 less.
was hoping it would be alot cheeper

Basically, this is the battle of two pointless, overpriced laptops. Yay.
the thing will sell about as well as the Air lol which ain't a good thing
i guess its gonna be Windows 7 on my XPS1530 for the next couple years
its fantastic looking hardware but damn...
But as others have said, the Studio XPS 13 is still a great looking alternative that is more reasonably priced.
Even the rich (the crowd they target) would have the brains not to buy this.lol..no power.. useless machine.. upgrade the specs man.. then this would do well..

lol, it sounds either like a shampoo, some sort of cream for an unmentionable part of the body or a cleaning product.
