If you're a student looking to purchase Microsoft Office on the cheap you may be in luck. Microsoft has just announced the start of their Ultimate Steal Promotion. The new program, through a partnership with both The National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) and the Society of Hispanic Professionals in Engineering (SHPE) Inc., is targeted towards twelve Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) and Hispanic student organizations at colleges and universities in the United States. Eligible students will be able to purchase Microsoft Office Ultimate for a cool $59.95 (U.S.). That's a very whopping 91% off of the retail value of the software, which usually sells for $679.95 (U.S.).
An IT Manager from SHPE, Frank Barragan, had nothing but praise for Microsoft's effort to reach out to his foundation's student base. "We commend Microsoft for its continuous efforts to empower diverse communities with the right tools for a bright future," said Mr. Barragan.
In order to be eligible for the Ultimate Steal Promotion, you must be currently enrolled in a U.S. educational institution, carry at least a 0.5 course credit, and have a valid school e-mail address. Further details can be found at http://www.TheUltimateSteal.com.

Might seem like an obvious question, but did you try using your home address?
You should be able to put additional info in the Address 2 field, like Suite 200 or something. Post Office doesn't care, and it'll be enough info to the computer to think it's a different address.
Yeah, and you can install it on up 2 PC's, but no more then that. This is coming directly from Microsoft telling me this when I ordered it.
ask your room mate to install it also on your pc as it's 3 pc software.
I purchased mine last year for my fiancee as she was doing her masters and the OU had the offer.
Why is there a lot of race society's involved?
There are normally great deals on different office products. You just have to hunt them down since normally they are not advertised well.
In the UK NHS employees can download Office 2007 for £8.95 or buy the boxed version for £13

No worries, just found it for £38.95
I have office, I was just curious.
*edit* nevermind. Looks like you only need a valid .edu account.
91% off of a $675 product would surely be less than Win7 Ult that will go for what, $450?
The better savings is in Office Ult.

But keep in mind that only these schools get the promotion; not all .edu addresses will work.
Chances are, if your school isn't listed there, it probably has another program in place that allows you to get Vista or Office for even cheaper prices.
lool
[inappropriate racist joke]Maybe it has something to do with the title... "ultimate steal"[/joke]

I agree, its about time everyone purchases legal software. Besides why take a chance and end up with more than you bargained for with hidden malware, spyware, worms, and more?
I got office 2007 ultimate about 16 months ago and vista ultimate product red about 2 months ago.
Umm... they announced it more than a year ago.
