Windows 7 build 7105 Milestone reached?

Builds for Windows 7 keep powering forward; it seems there are new ones being reported weekly, but here's one that might be worth sitting up and paying attention for: it appears Windows 7 has reached build 7105. But in addition to this, it's worth remembering that a Windows 7 RC could possibly be available April 10th. This timing makes it seem as though Neowin's exclusive source was dead on, and that in a few days time Microsoft will announce availability of an RC build for its latest operating system. It's likely that build 7100 will be named as the release candidate.

The string for this build is 6.1.7105.0.090404-1235_x86fre_client_en-us_Retail_Ultimate-GB1CULFRER_EN_DVD, and it was compiled on April 4th. Many contested that this means it's a fake; April 4th is a Saturday, but those thoughts have been dismissed with the fact that Microsoft still compiles builds on Saturdays.

Russian site WZor is reporting this. The last reported build leak was last month, and it's expected for 7105 to be leaked shortly also, although it's hoped a public announcement will be made soon, as mentioned. So, what are they changes that are being reported so far?

1. Improved networking support, the work in the local network
2. Added support for some previously incompatible programs
3. Extras in the LP (?) and small cosmetic interface improvements
4. Added support for new drivers for various devices
5. Extended support sensory displays
6. A small optimization and changes in the kernel

It seems that Windows 7 development is definitely drawing to a close, as now the only changes are bug fixes and optimizations; no new major features are being added, although keep in mind that there could still be some surprises left.

Thats a jump in numbers.

It's because they reached a new milestone. The build number is always increased to the next full hundred on such an occassion.

btw, there's a typo in the article:
"So, what are they changes..."

This isn't RC ESCROW. If anything this is an RTM branch build since they recently split off winmain for RC. And this is the continuation of the main tree pushing towards RTM.

I've changed it to read Milestone, as opposed to Escrow.

as Chris123NT said, dont belive **** that some dj***.ru forum says, that suppose to have leak of 7065 and 7070 "leaks soon". They even published filesizes (like they did for 7105 as well). They are just bunch of traffic hunters. This is most likely RTM branch and we will see 707x of RC-escrow and probably 7100 as public RC.

Do you believe all that just because you don't want to believe them?

no, i dont belive them because their track record is bad. As soon as some page posts more then one OBVIOUSLY fake pictures as it is the truth, then it must be something wrong with the site. Its like beliving in to http://windows7pe.cn/ just not that extreme.

Don't worry, I didn't write this based on their information alone.

I'm still kind of skeptical, I mean, if they are compiling on Saturdays, we still wouldn't be on 7105.
#4.1 dcoaster on 06 Apr 2009 - 21:00
Different branches do not follow continuous build numbering. This is why the 71xx series is different from 70xx series in terms of their internal significance inside MS. For example, if Mac OS X 10.5.7 was released and they are now ready for a major upgrade, they would not use 10.5.8, they would use 10.6.0. They are two different sets of numbers.

06.04.2000 2009 we expect that to 8 April 2009 , self-deadlocked exonération " signing " Developers group Windows 7 , Assembly status RC.conf(5) , Escrow.com and nevertheless work on Windows 7 is not stopped and now it moved into a new phase, stage Assembly release candidate .
In branch ( assemblies win7rc ) emerged new Assembly релиз-кандидат claiming, currently ( 6.04.09 ) their only two , ñáîðêà 7073 this. 0. 090330 -2032 and ñáîðêà 7077.0.090404-1255 , but nevertheless in the main branch assemblies ( ) WinMain these assemblies yet no!
Draw your attention that 30 March was collected two assemblies 7073 , in the main branch ( ) and WinMain ( win7rc ) релизкандидатной.

p.s : we quite seriously consider the possibility of establishing он-лайн betting to determine the status of any assembly products Microsoft , very successful will model business

6068? Man that's an old build. I think you meant 7068.

So I should just wait a few days and install 7105 instead of 7068.

hardgiant said,

More than likely this isn't all its cracked up to be. I hafta agree with Chris and SoLoR, it's being blown out of proportion.
#12 SoLoR1 on 06 Apr 2009 - 21:45
@hardgiant

there wont be 7105 (unless some mirricle happens), we will see something along 7077 or higher as rc-escrow. However there is no real time table for it. Could be tomorrow, could be in a week, could take even longer so if you didnt install yet, its up to you if you are willing to wait.
#13 winkento on 06 Apr 2009 - 22:00
It is possible :
According to WZor.Net, on the 2nd April : 6.1.7076.0.winmain.090402-1838 ;
Then MS would have artificially jumped to 71xx branch (major milestone reached) : 6.1.7105.0.winmain.090404-1235, so 6 builds in 2 days. It is consistent with the recent annoucements of MS Windows OEM manager Laurence Painell.
#14 atleeit on 06 Apr 2009 - 22:10
they always jump builds when they reach a new milestone, 7105 is legit and you will see it out soon.

I still say "Wheres the proof?"
There has been a lot of guessing with no real basis of proof given apart from "supposed" build dates that have wrong before.
So.... where is the PROOF ????

12/06/2000 Microsoft Whistler Beta2
02/14/2001 Microsoft Whistler RC1
03/21/2001 Microsoft Whistler RC2
04/18/2001 Microsoft Whistler Final Build

plus leaked builds (don't remember how many).

FAKE! FAKE! FAKE!

Just kidding.

Atleeit says they always jump builds when they reach a milestone.
SHOW ME !!!
The Beta release (7000) was the last milestone and it did not jump builds either side of it !!!
How can you say these things just to try and justify this "supposed" 7105 build !!!???
They say that a dying man will clutch at straws to survive, I feel that this is one instance of that.
WAIT FOR THE RC !!!
#19.1 Tom W on 07 Apr 2009 - 06:29
Yes it did jump builds either side of it actually, 6956 to 7000 and then 7003 was the first compiled build after that in WinMain. Get your facts straight.
#19.2 Caveman-ugh on 07 Apr 2009 - 10:08
Tom W
The builds didn't jump at all !!
The builds you have stated are the ones that the general public know of ...and that's all that means.
For example are you telling me that between 7057 and 7068 there were no builds ????
Of course there were !!!

WZor.net:
to neowin.net
Windows 7 build 7105 RC Milestone reached
dear neowin team,
I would like to inform you that owner of djforum is one of the biggest bull****ters in whole RU internet zone...

So this list of changes:
1. Improved networking support, the work in the local network
2. Added support for some previously incompatible programs
3. Extras in the LP (?) and small cosmetic interface improvements
4. Added support for new drivers for various devices
5. Extended support sensory displays
6. A small optimization and changes in the kernel

is better to be removed from the article

Agreed, that info is made up by djforum (the source of that crap), but otherwise it seems alright. Any leaks are fake, but not the build info.
#22 Dannydeman on 07 Apr 2009 - 07:48
Bah..to bad I can't use Windows 7 on my laptop. My mobillity ATI 3450 doesn't like the 9.3 drivers in Vista, so I won't even bother with W7 It's giving me lots of artifacts in movies, and since I use my laptop as mediacenter only, it's not going to happen. I will install it on my main PC though..
#23 koinonia on 07 Apr 2009 - 09:54

#31.1 Tekkerson on 07 Apr 2009 - 20:29
If you found 7105 why would 7077 matter?

We could call 7077 old at this point since 7105 is already confirmed.
#31.2 Tekkerson on 07 Apr 2009 - 20:46
While on topic it seems a neowin member leaked 7077? Or was it that they grabbed it from the repoted Russian site that was first leaking and then uploaded it?

*Wonders*
#31.3 Tekkerson on 07 Apr 2009 - 21:06
Never mind, it was the latter! :p
