Apple has been churning out the releases of betas for the latest iPhone OS, 3.0, on a bi-weekly basis since it was announced and there's no slowing down. Just today, iPhone OS 3.0 beta 4 has become available, except this time it brought a friend; iTunes version 8.2 (pre-release) has become available to developers, and is required to install the new mobile firmware. What delicious new changes are we looking at here? In terms of the iPhone OS, you've got your usual fix of speed improvements and enhancements. There is something new, though; in the 'Settings' of iPhone OS, the new 'Store' entry now features your account details, rather than a screen with nothing but 'Store' on it. If there are any other changes that turn up, expect this article to be updated accordingly, so keep yours eyes peeled.
iTunes 8.2 pre-release does not have any real noticeable changes so far, but there is something interesting; MacRumors pointed out that in the legal section of the software, there are now references to the Blu-Ray technology, meaning that the recent storage media may be supported by a Mac near you in the not-too-distant future.

Edit: Interesting driver installed - AppleUSBEthernetHost.kext - I think everyone knows what that means.
And good news for beta 4, I can't wait to install this thing on my iPod Touch
iTunes 8.2 pre release has many chnages like iTunes 8.2 supports multiple account support means apps from multiple accounts can be used on same device. it seem like you could theoretically sign into one account, download apps, sign out, sign into another account, and download apps from that account as well, all onto the same iPhone. Another major change is iTunes 8.2 Pre-Release requires Mac OS Leopard 10.5.7 in order to sync notes indicates a major change in Notes.

No MMS recieve on O2 (Still redirects you to their website via SMS)
MMS Send works fine
OS is hella fast and loving the new Youtube App.
Also seems to hold a 3G signal longer (Stronger) than V2
If you ring O2 several times and argue several times, like me. They will be able to MMS enable your account. As that is what I had to do with my iPhone 3G to use Swirly MMS :-)
Now I can send MMS's from any phone I put my sim card in to.
If you find out could you PM Me please
you need to be a paid dev
You're welcome
It's the pre-release; only available to developers.
you're welcome
Seriously.
here's a hunch: their 10" touchscreen iPro will work like a iPod touch but features a Bluray drive. haha!
As it stands, I'd still heartily recommend the iPhone 3G though

I just need to take my mind off wanting a new toy, and wait...
Irt seems that some people have it working and others dont. I called O2 to get MMS setup / activated and was told that they couldnt do it. I have a business tarrif and they said that there is "no provisioning in the system right now for MMS on any iPhone contract".
That pretty much cut the conversation dead, as you can imagine!
For those who are still getting the "go to URL" message when sending over O2 Uk, the problem is that the network doesnt think you can do MMS, so if you ring up O2 and tell them that you on occasion put your sim in another handset (for work or whatever), and ask them if they can put MMS on directly on the network (you might have to try and ring a few times as not every advisor has access to the network directly), if you use the words "can you put the mms service onto the network" they should get what your saying.
They might go on about you not receiving the URL link when you recieve an MMS on your iphone but just tell them it doesnt matter. You might also want to put your sim in another phone every now and then for a few days incase they check what IMEI you've been using.
That will sort that problem out 100%!!!!
Trust me I know these things in greater detail than most ;o)
Also, about the Blu-ray section in iTunes...
That doesn't mean Macs will necessarily start coming out with Blu-ray drives. It just means iTunes will be able to play them most likely.
