I don't get what is so special about the Pre. When there are phones like the HTC Diamond 2, the Android, and the iPhone. What could the Pre offer that you can't already get? (That is, with the exception of a pointless prox sensor.)

The iPhone and even my LG Incite have a proximity sensor as well. It isn't pointless though, as it disables the touchscreen while the phone is near your face. If you've never used a touchscreen phone without one, let me assure you that it is a welcome feature (no more hitting "end" or changing the volume on the phone because your phone's screen touches your face while you are talking).

Multi-taskin, that the iphone at least doesn't have for sure.

a new refreshing interface, with what looks like a nice design for multitasking, and a nice capacitive touch screen & full qwerty

Never understood why nobody thought to design a concave-backed touchscreen phone with the earpiece and mic on the back instead of the front. It seems like it would feel more natural (try the motion) after looking at your screen, and it reduces contact with the screen (and the oil that goes with it).

Always seemed glaringly obvious to me. I guess I could patent it, never do anything about it on my own, wait for someone to do it and sue them for a cut...seems to work.

So I guess this means I'll have to drop my SERO plan to upgrade.
#3.1 XeonBuilder on 21 May 2009 - 18:10
I dont see why you would have to. SERO includes unlimited data already. I dont see why they couldnt just give you a new phone with the same plan.

After a very short period its coming to other providers. Not sure of the details but its common knowlegde to the people that follow this phone. So no worries.

How often do you actually remove your battery in your phone? I have never once in nearly 10 years of having a cell phone had a phone battery die before I upgraded the phone anyway.

I remove the battery from my phone when troubleshooting, it can also help if you have a charging dock and an extra battery so you can swap batteries when needing a full charge.

Everybody I know has a cell phone who's battery went to crap. This way you can just buy a new battery. Not so easy to do with the iphone.

I've replaced batteries in let's see, 1, no 2, no 5 phones. Not everyone buys a new phone when their battery starts to die all the time.

This phone was good if it released before the "future release news" of some other phones? (i know all nerds here knew about it but i mean to the semi-general public.)

I think this phone won't do so good because people are waiting for possibly "better" phones such as android.

But whatever the case some people only stick with Palm phone after phone, surely they'll like this!

Android is a platform not a phone...
