A little bird has informed me of an official Microsoft hosted survey in which the winner(s) will receive a free copy of Windows 7 Ultimate after simply filling out a 4 question survey. It couldn't be any easier than this folks. The survey is entitled "Windows 7 Discovery", and the instructions are crystal clear: "We want to know how you find information about Windows 7 from Microsoft. Please answer questions in the survey below for a chance to win a copy of Windows 7 Ultimate Edition when it becomes available [available] in Oct 2009."
In order to be eligible for the survey, which is hosted on SurveyMonkey.com, all you have to do is answer the following questions:
1. Name and e-mail address.
2. What group best describer your role?
3. What term would you use to search for a Microsoft page about Windows 7?
4. Which URL would you most likely type to find information on the latest version of Windows?
So what are you waiting for, head on over to the survey and good luck.

Does that run in wine?
Also, email attachments do not have the "execute" attribute set. I suppose I would have to set this manually, as well.
If this is a spam trap, I used an e-mail address that is normally used for newsletters and stuff anyway.

What are you talking about?
say Bing.com or you'll instantly be disqualified if you say google.com
So I understand you know how many copies will be given away?
"One lucky winner will get a copy of Windows 7 Ultimate Edition when it becomes available this Oct" - per the Microsoft blog where this link is from
sounds fishy
www.neowin.net
I was about to say..
Suck-ups
Someone in October will go "Oh, I won a free copy of Windows 7, right, just enter enough personal info to choke a horse and wait for my identity to be stolen before delivery."
Hmm, considering the mistakes found above, I don't think it sounds legit...
Seriously, what's the big deal? All it asks, is just your email address and your name.
Nothing can be done with that info, except send you spam that you probably already getting.
Google.com

edit: ****, i just read that only one winner will be chosen!

You really need to rethink your life, mate.
Wow, how generous.
What was the other method to get Windows 7 for free? You had to be signed up for something and test the RC release for at least 3-4 months right?
Cry some more?
Does LOOK fishy, but used a junk e-mail address anyway.

Anything posted on a blog hosted on the technet.com domain is extremely likely to be legit.
I'd be curious to see the results of this survey, but it's likely they won't be published
