Hold on my friends don't use this site hahaha

Suffice to say there will be computers, music, females, males, alcohol and food generally at our parties there's a laptop or 4 being passed about anyway

I signed up for this, I think it might be cool in a nerdy way. THere will be free alcohol!! Hopefully I will have my touchscreen laptop by then, that would be cool to show off. Especially if I hook it up to my 60" 1080p, that will make for some nice pics for MS!

kooooooooooooey! Windows 7 party crashing is coming !!!! coming through the back door and putting Curtains on the Windows..... hehehe...
throw some Apples and Penguins at the guests, shoot them with Paint balls...

You must have found the wrong party because the Snow Leopard party was already posted above.

Very interesting. I wonder what's different in this "Signature Edition"... Probably just wallpapers and such like the "Product Red" editions?

Hah.. I'll throw one on the 25th.. do a windows 7 party for an hour.. and then get back to regular nfl football games with lots of booze and bbq grub.. lol

I''m going all out. Imma buy green, blue and 'black' drink stuff to mix with vodka and offer home premium, professional and ultimate cocktails. imma hook up the laptop to the TV and use windows media center (although the music will come from spotify running in the background)

AWESOMETIMES¡¡¡

I signed up. Hell, I have about 20 friends that are just geeky enough to come to something like this, LOL!

Dam I so wanted the vista signed edition and this one too bad I cant throw a party! Wonder if their will be another way to get them?

Or you can take a page out of Microsoft's playbook...

Take a picture of yourself...then just Photoshop a black guy, an asian guy and a white girl in the picture.

PMSL hahaha

When you click on Canada, French is listed as Françes (which doesn't mean anything) instead of Français... god, what kind of quality control do they have

If your REALLY bored, you could stage everything. Its not like a microsoft rep will be coming to your house.

From what I can see, there is not one mention of MICROSOFT anywhere, it even says SPONSERED BY HouseParty.

what I had to 'agree with' at the end was giving my life to microsoft, and not to houseparty. something like "microsoft will OWN each and every thing you submit about this party"

You have to throw a party on your own expense with at least 10 total strangers to get a free copy....I bet all pirates are laughing really loud right now

'Pirates' have had a cracked version of Win7 Ultimate for several weeks now.

but this is signed by bill gatez¡¡¡ besides, I can always ransack LIDL to get cheap pizzas. and they actually send some 'party pack' to your house, though I have no idea what comes inside

Where do you get the idea that you have to invite strangers??

What a lame competition. The fact anyone would have a party over an OS is crazy.

LOL, indeed, but it's free publicity for Microsoft. Outsourcing ad agencies, you know. A copy of Windows 7 in return. Very cheap for MS.

Does inviting friends round and getting wasted with Windows 7 on a computer in the same room count? :P

Ok...these 4 guys sitting at a table in my opinion does not constitute a quote "Party".

I mean...geez...I can get 4 people from work to sit at a table with me and have a picture taken and there ya go...instant party.

I live in Canada but hope to receive the loot! Live in a good area code with fiber.. they probably want the nerds with the tools at hand to throw a sick party! I wasn't sure how they would feel about spirits and other substances so I wasn't sure about the whole press thing..

I signed up but one of the terms is "The majority of parties will be held within the United States."

So why even allow other countries to sign up then??

Lol, this really made me laught. Why invite both friends and family round to look at a laptop and look happy. That would be my friends idea of a nightmare!

Perfect Idea to hold a LAN party

That's actually a really good idea.

If you've got the machines, then a launch party with all Win7 computers.

so what happens after I signup?
also just to say that I visit neowin 2 hours ago and that was just 1 minute after this article was released and I went straight there to signup but haven't done it yet

I just knew, that someone would post this photo These guys are the ones who started the whole launch party era.

Or... They have already been helped with the outfits...

I'm interested in this, but do they advertise your party and just invite random people? i don't think i'd like just anyone turning up... but this is something some friends and myself would be interested in doing.

nah, it says that you use the website to make the invites and send them out (via email I assume). they ask you if you are willing to invite at least 10 people. it's a house party not a free for all one

Well some more info in case somebody needs it:

First they will ask you what OS you are currently running and they will 'make' you run the Win7 upgrade advisor to confirm that you can upgrade to win7.

Then they ask you what you will be willing to do: throw a party, invite at least 10 people, use the website to send invites, take pics, fill a survey after the event, etc

Then they make you sign some "we own your life" terms ala facebook old privacy policy. It also says that it is up to you to serve alcohol and that minors shouldn't drink it :P

I'm definitely applying. I'm gonna gather my personal geek entourage and rock it to windows 7 like it's christmas baybeh!! Do they send the doritos in the party pack or should I provide those myself?
