Apple's recently introduced iPod nano packed a couple new features, as is expected, but it also came with a built-in video camera. Whilst this is all well and good, the slim size of the nano makes it very discrete, meaning it can be used for less appropriate purposes. People are well aware of this, and, according to Pioneer Press, a major gym chain has now banned the device from its locker rooms to prevent any issues.Life Time Fitness, a company which runs 84 gyms in a total of 19 states, has banned the use of the new iPod nano entirely from its locker rooms for one main reason: it's very hard to tell whether a user is recording a video or just selecting a song. This, as mentioned, has raised concern, though the prohibition isn't as large as it could be… the device is allowed in work out rooms, though video is still not allowed in that area.
This isn't a new development, though, as cellphones equipped with cameras have apparently been banned at health clubs for years already. It's unsure as to whether or not Apple will respond to this, though with the device already on the market, there may not be much they can do.

Anyways, Maybe apple can come out with a new firmware where when a user starts recording, there would be sounds...
Yeah, completely banned :d I think that should read: locker rooms / changing areas :p
Anyway, there's no reason to use a device in the changing room. I support the ban of all devices in changing areas.

true too... who in the world would listen to music through the headphone like changing? I mean like u are taking of your clothings and the wires are a distraction... lol! Just leave it outside!

I see that as making the situation worse, as everyone would think "that made no noise, so (s)he's not recording me"... All one would have to do is not update their firmware, and they'd get away with it with even less suspicion.
I don't have a problem with them, but I've seen so many people taking video/photos with their devices just for morbidity in all kinds of places.
Because being able to take a video is vastly more important than listening to music, or even taking a simple picture!
: Dunno what Apple was smoking when they thought a camera was a good idea.
buyre-buy their mp3 players. This isn't a new development, though, as cellphones equipped with cameras have apparently been banned at health clubs for years already. lol sorry..just wanted to point out your love for the word "though"
though.EDIT: Wow. Over sensitive 'swear' filter.
See that's the problem with apple wanting to put camera's on all their god damn devices. Sooner or later you are banned from using them. Because of that stupid camera.
Its pedo heaven if you ask me!!
